Controlled Access

Only users that have subscribed to the o8Media service may download content. Subscribers are also required to register the device(s) that they are intending to store and playback content. The Network Carriers will provide the o8Media service portal to their customers to insure that the customer is in the region and that the content is legally controlled. The o8Media Subscriber database will insure that the PC is also registered and customers are authenticated during the transaction.

Broadband users are required to download the o8Media manager, a software client application that is downloaded to the PC as part of subscriber and device registrations. Also required is the Windows Media Player 10. For Mobile subscribers, the Mobile carrier will provide an authorized WAP gateway to o8Media portal. The Mobile user is also required to download VDO’s Mobile Media Player that enables DRM security.
