Security Management

VDOutilizes state of the art Digital Rights Management (DRM) and patented license management technologies to provide an unprecedented level of security management and content protection throughout the VDO network. VDO’s patented security t echnology combines market leading DRM technology, Microsoft DRM, OMA and Real Helix DRM with proprietary key management, device and user management technologies. Currently we deliver content using Windows DRM version 10 as well as our proprietary DRM solution. License delivery uses a secure voucher system to insure that only one license is delivered and that it is delivered to the proper device. Licenses are securely stored in the targeted device. VDO’s VDE Media Manager monitors the contents on the users device player and, once the license expires, insures that the user either obtains a new license for further plays or removes the content from the PC.

Additionally, o8Media Security supports a broad range of business models including pay-per-view, download to own, download rentals and subscription models that allow access only to authenticated users. These rights are granted to a user through a license which accompanies the download of the content. The DRM license includes both the mechanism for restricting the content playback and is linked directly to the purchased business model. License renewal is also supported.
